WCS. 23 November 1955. Ceduna. The first naturalization ceremony to be held in the Murat Bay District Council area will take place at Thevenard on 6 December. It will be held in the Waterside Workers Hall ¦ Specially invited guests are Minister of Agriculture, Hon A W Christian and the Federal member, Mr E H Russell ¦ The central figures in the ceremony will be Mr A Swadek and Mr N Mozol. Both men have proved themselves to be good citizens. Mr Swadek is of Polish nationality and was in the RAF in England before coming to Australia in 1948. He has been employed by the Waratah Gypsum Co at Thevenard ever since. Very highly regarded by his company, Mr Swadek married Miss Dorothy Walpert of Thevenard, they have four children. Mr N Mozol, also from Poland, came to Australia seven years ago. He is also highly esteemed in the community and is employed on the waterfront at Thevenard. He married Miss Joy Trellegan of Mudamuckla and they have one son.







WCS. 7 December 1955. Thevenard. An impressive naturalization ceremony, the first of its kind in the district, took place at Thevenard Waterside Workers Hall ¦ There were 150 people present. Mr Alec Swadek and Nicholas Mosel both of Poland received their certificates of Australian Citizenship from the chairman of the District Council of Murat Bay, Mr P S Morrison, who was assisted in the ceremony by the clerk, Mr T C Hough. The council was assisted in the social side of the function by the Thevenard Progress Association who with the help of local ladies provided the sumptuous supper ¦ Little Wilma Nisbet and Kathleen Hyne presented posies made by Mrs R J Betts to Mrs Swadek and Mrs Mozel ¦ After the Oath of Allegiance had been sworn, each candidate received his certificate







WCS. 4 December 1957. Advertising: District Council of Murat Bay, Ceduna, Naturalisation Ceremony, Tuesday 10 December 1957, A cordial invitation is extended to the residents of Thevenard, Ceduna and surrounding areas to be present at the naturalisation of Aristotelis Cassidonis, Elie Manolakis, Karl Heinz Meier, Mrs Evdokia Moschou to be held on the above date at the Waterside Worker s Hall, Thevenard at 8pm. PS Morrison, Chairman.








WCS. 18 March 1959. Ceduna. 200 people attended the first public naturalization ceremony in the Memorial Hall ¦ the chairman of the council, Mr PS Morrison officiated and the candidates were Johannes Paul Heinisch, Wilhelm Heinz Moeller, Evangelica Hatzikosta and Bernhard Johannes Weiland. Speakers were Mr RJ Betts for the general pubic and Mr J Mastrosavas for the Thevenard and Greek community ¦ each candidate was presented with a Bible as a memento of the occasion. Supper was served and the evening concluded with a well attended dance.
