23 May 1951. Koonibba. The Children’s Playground Fund has now reached 304 pounds. A slippery slide, ocean wave and log swing have already been erected. A giant stride, quadruple swing, double see-saw and self propelling swing are on the way. The money came mainly from Luther societies, Sunday schools and ladies guilds all over Australia. The official opening of the playground will take place on August 18, during Koonibba’s Jubilee celebrations.
