13 April 1937. It was reported on 13 April 1937, that a pleasant surprise awaited a Thevenard fisherman, who was at sea fishing. His wife had given birth to the first twins to have been born in the new Murat Bay District Hospital.
Mrs Joseph Morris, the mother, who was aged 30, was doing well. The first baby arrived at 7.30 a.m. and the second at 8.30 a.m. The weights are 5 lb. 13 oz. and 6 lb. 8 oz. Both are girls and dark haired.
These photos show various nurses and doctors and babies at the hospital in the earlier years.
