WCS. 20 July 1928. Destruction of Finger and Signposts. – Cr Hughes and others drew attention to the dastardly destruction and wanton disfiguration of signposts in the district. It was a wicked thing, calculated to mislead and embarrass the public and should be severely punished. Council to offer a reward of 5 pounds for information which lead to the conviction of persons damaging signposts.
WCS. 24 November 1933: District Council of Murat Bay. The police have co-operated with the Council in issuing warnings to motorists offending against the traffic by-laws… warning notices have been attached to cars parked incorrectly… The council have installed a water trough at the Thevenard cow reserve… A large number of residents and outback people have asked the council to re-erect the brush shelter shed on Alexander s beach, which was damaged by storms last year… great use was made last year of this shelter… A letter from HO Edwards regarding leave to construct a slipway at Thevenard was granted… Cr FW Betts referred to parking cars in front of the Ceduna Hotel. From the two trees in front, a concrete curbing could be constructed… preventing trespass on the footpath… price to be obtained for levelling off the railway formation in front of the hotel… Cr Betts thought that an appeal to farmers for timber and brushwood for the bathing shed could be met with ready response…
WCS. Council Notes: The council daymen… have planted Moreton Bay fig trees and tamarisks at Ceduna on the reserve opposite O Loughlin Tce… The best thanks of the council are due to Mr J W Hirte for the practical interest he is taking in the township trees. He is maintaining constant care of the tree guards… and cutting drains to run surface water around young trees – this being done gratis…
