WCS. 1 July 1932: Bravery Awarded. Everyone will congratulate young Lawrence Edwards, of Thevenard, on his reward for the conspicuous bravery shown by him in rescuing a boy from drowning at Thevenard some months ago. We learned from eye witnesses of the brave deed, that young Edwards feat was worthy of far more commendation than was generally accorded. He pluckily stuck to his difficult task under very adverse circumstances and showed determination… The poor little victim, Master Post, was almost in extremis when Edwards rescued him… A Certificate from the Royal Humane Society has been awarded.
