WCS. 20 July 1955. Ceduna. The BCA Flying Medical Radio Control Station received a call to the isolated opal mining settlement of Coober Pedy where a native woman was in need of medical treatment. The Dragon aircraft piloted by Mr M Job, set off early in the afternoon and brought the patient to Ceduna.

The Bush Church Aid flying doctors service… received an urgent call from Cook, 200 miles away on the East West Railway Line, to treat the guard of a Perth bound train who had taken seriously ill at Rawlinna. The guard had been put on an east bound train and put into hospital at Cook… suffering from a ruptured gastric ulcer and an emergency operation was performed…
